At Sri Sai Eye Hospital, Patna, we believe that every individual, regardless of their socioeconomic status, deserves access to high-quality eye care. Our commitment to serving the community extends far beyond the walls of our hospital. Through our Community Outreach and Free Eye Camps initiative, we reach out to the underprivileged and underserved populations, bringing essential eye care services directly to those who need them the most.
Bihar has a significant number of people who suffer from preventable blindness or impaired vision due to a lack of access to proper eye care. Understanding the critical need for intervention, Sri Sai Eye Hospital has been on the forefront of addressing these challenges. Our free eye camps are organized regularly in rural areas, slums, and other underserved regions where medical facilities are either scarce or non-existent.
Each eye camp is a comprehensive health initiative that includes
Qualified ophthalmologists conduct thorough eye examination , including visual acuity tests, refraction tests, and check up for common eye conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive errors e.t.c
Many people, especially in rural areas, suffer from vision problems simply due to the lack of access to corrective lenses. We provide free eyeglasses to those diagnosed with refractive errors during our camps.
For those diagnosed with minor eye conditions, immediate treatment is provided, along with free medication. This ensures that patients begin their treatment without delay.
Patients with conditions requiring surgery, such as cataracts, are identified during these camps. We offer them free or subsidized surgeries at our hospital, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent anyone from receiving the treatment they need.
In addition to medical services, we also focus on educating the community about the importance of eye health, the prevention of common eye diseases, and the benefits of early detection and treatment.
Our outreach program has already touched the lives of thousands of individuals across Bihar. Each camp typically caters to hundreds of patients, with many receiving their first-ever eye examination. The gratitude and positive outcomes from these camps motivate us to expand our reach and frequency, ensuring that more people can benefit from our services.
We organise approx. 450 to 500 camps each year, ensuring regular access to eye care in remote areas. Patients Treated Over 51000 patients received eye care services through our camps.
We have successfully facilitated more than 1000 surgeries every year for those diagnosed in our camps.
Our success in community outreach is amplified through collaborations with local NGOs, governmental bodies, and community leaders like BPCL , IOCL , SBI , ONGC , IIFL Samastha e.t.c . These partnerships help us identify areas in dire need of services, mobilize resources, and ensure that our camps run smoothly. Additionally, we work closely with local volunteers who assist in organizing the camps, spreading awareness, and helping patients navigate the services offered.
Behind every eye camp, there are stories of lives transformed. From the elderly who regain their sight after years of living in darkness to children who can finally see the board in school, the impact of our work is profound and deeply rewarding. We often hear from patients who share how their lives have improved after receiving treatment, and these testimonials reinforce our dedication to our mission.
Sri Sai Eye Hospital is committed to continue and expand it's community outreach efforts. We aim to increase the number of camps, extend our services to more remote locations, and introduce new initiatives like mobile eye clinics that can reach even the most isolated areas. Our vision is to eliminate preventable blindness in Bihar, one eye camp at a time.
Your support can make a significant difference. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word about our initiatives, you can help us reach more people and provide the gift of sight to those in need. Together, we can create a brighter, healthier future for our community.
